- Read aloud by Part-> Identify the main idea by;
Par.1: Why they are needed, Par.2,3: How they work, Par.4: How they are used.
=>Blog Write what bar codes are, how they work, and how they are used in four to six sentences.
A barcode is black and white lines that identify the manufacturer and product. 
It is printed or put on each item and used mainly at supermarkets to identify the item. 
When a barcode is scanned at the cash register, it identifies the item, and then the price information of the item is entered from the store computer. 
It not only increases the speed of checkout process but also helps the management to control the inventory (stock) of the merchandise.
