Early Buildings (Par.3)  Before the 20th century, there weren’t many tall buildings because people couldn’t climb up so high and the buildings were made of bricks and stones.
Two Major Inventions (Par.4-5)  A strong vertical framework made of steel beams and safety elevators made he construction of taller buildings possible.
Design Problems (Par.6,7):  One of the design problems is elevators that took substantial space and the other was to bring water, electricity and air up and down. Also, the top of the building must be strong enough against strong winds.
